The ability to Craft from storage
Would be nice to craft from storage in the base area or at least the house.

This shouldn't be an, "Unlock/upgrade," it's not fun to have to find things in your chests. Please see DUNE Awakening. Crafting from chests should be default. -

Ryan AdminAt level 10 you can unlock Imbued Storage Chests. These will allow you to craft and build directly from storage while at base.

RhinoAs Ryan said the imbued storage chests work great. Small suggestion though. Have the food one allow salt and deepling bones seeing that they are part of the recipes and perhaps an additional one for crafted items such as Twine to be used at workbenches.

Kisskerside note about the imbued chests though is... the botany chest... what is the point of it? Are more items planned? (it currently only seems to hold fiber/grass) I'd sort of rather see the botany and lumberjack chests combined as 'wood and sap' is also kind of a short list, especially when you consider that the food chest has foods of all sorts, raw or cooked, as well as bandages, and healing potions.

Stephanie Rivet Admin@kissker, good question re: botany chest!
This one is actually a bit of a holdover - though we may still capitalize on it in the future. We used to have a lot more types of plants available in the build, but the current demo has very few - they were used in certain recipes :) so we'll continue to evaluate that if the economy doesn't shape out the same way! -

We thought crafting from storage would be an exciting and juicy upgrade. Not sure if we'll change this yet, but we've definitely gotten a lot of feedback about it not being available from the beginning, so this is something we're considering what to do! -

KanisIt would be great if all items that we can gathered had a category icon in their description or near their picture. This would allow easier sorting for the people who care about such things. A food icon, A building icon, An enchanting Icon, etc... for each different group of uses something belongs too.

Nicolos owens-Averyto rephrase what should be considered "the inventory system should be combined with crafting therefore not having to have the item on the person to just craft inside the base it should just be linked together" as i seen the admin comment was in 2024 i didnt see much new said for this of 2025

PyperIn the current Alpha playtest (7/8/2025) Build: 0.14.0.37067, I have just reached sanctuary Power 5 and am just now able to craft the "imbued chests" - this seems way to late in the game to me. The imbued chests that you can build from should be available earlier IMO - no later than Sanctuary Power level 4, and I honestly feel it should be available at Sanc. Power 3. But 5? That is way too late IMO.

Stephanie Rivet AdminWe do have this feature, as folks have confirmed in the thread, just later in progression.
We don't currently have plans to change the mechanism, but we're still open to feedback on whether it is too far back in the progression or not!
Nicolos, I see you have a different suggestion about being able to craft on the person. I think if you'd like to advocate this, you should post a separate post with this idea! -

yesTheres a simple statement that 99.9% of early access game devs do not seem to understand..
I'll leave it here hopefully it gets reflected on
"Late is just for a little while. Suck is forever." -

TheBuckMcDancerIF a change was made to the storage chest system, I would recommend allowing crafting from storage chests on a local level right from the start (ex. within the radius of the altar, so expanding the radius has an additional benefit), and allow items placed into Imbued chests to be shared to crafting stations inside ALL of your alter radiuses. Also allowing each chest to have a toggle selection as to whether or not it should be included in shared storage or not would also allow people to set their own items in certain chests to not be auto consumed.
I like the idea of having chests that can feed items directly into crafting stations at some point int he progression, but the lack of it right away will result in a generally unfavorable reaction from people missing it and thinking you overlooked it. You then have to win them back over as they later find out about it inside or outside the game, but I feel it's always best to make a good first impression, than trying to improve a bad one. -

MochnantI'm not a fan of "special" chests that support craft from storage. That's what Enshrouded did and I hated it there too.
In Voyagers of Nera, when I started my first game, created a few storage baskets and saw I couldn't craft from storage, I quit right there. Right or wrongly, it said to me that the developers didn't have a focus on basic QoL features.
I probably wouldn't return until this was a general feature and not part of a special mid-late game item: A) finding what you need in small starter chests is exceptionally tedious. B) Going back and upgrading all your storage to something better is also tedious.
My suggestion is just accept that this seemed like a cool progress reward for players during design, but you made a small mistake, and it is actually a vital quality of life feature that most survival games have these days. And then add it. Find some new cool feature for imbued chests to have. -

JoshI don't mind the craft from storage being progression locked, but (1) I really do think it should come earlier, unlockable in the Reef biome. The Greatwood is just too far into the game. I know more biomes will be coming of course, but even unlocking this feature in the " mid-game" feels to late. It's such a basic QoL for this genre at this point. It could even be unlockable in the Embrace, but gated behind a spirit rescue. Or just make it a standard feature of all storage. It just needs to come earlier. Also, (2), it should be clearer that that will be unlockable. The only way currently to know that it is coming down the lines is to literally read the entire knowledge tree, which some players might try to avoid for fear of spoiling things.

ZombullQOL functionality like this should be a basic feature of this kind of game, not an unlock.
You wouldn't have clunky movement controls for half the game then 'unlock' more intuitive and fluid controls mid-way through. -

Press14EnglishCraft from storage should be a basic feature, not unlockable. With so many ingredients and such limited storage/inventory space, making the player run back and forth to chests is just a form of punishment. Especially if you're playing with a controller.

ChauveDevI do think too, that this should not be an unlockable, unlocking QOL is not a good mechanic
