  Yes, a mini-map would be helpful indeed. This also ties in with the inability to control your character while the map is open, resulting in you always having to flick it open and then closing to adjust course when it could be much smoother.

  this would be great for those of us who are severely directionally challenged and have to frequently consult the map.

  Preferably with the option to disable it.

  Possibly also "disable," "enable when sailing/skimming," and "always on" options.

  Yes please! I really have issues knowing where I am in the world on games. A mini map would be a great addition.
